Overview
The Trading Insights Data Analyst partners with business stakeholders, traders, Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to deliver data-driven solutions that support decision-making across Chevron's integral Supply & Trading organization. The role combines business analysis, data analysis, reporting, testing, and data product enablement to translate business needs into actionable insights and scalable analytics solutions. Serving as a key liaison between business and technical teams, the Data Analyst develops expertise in trading processes and market fundamentals, leads requirements gathering and stakeholder workshops, validates solution designs through report and dashboard mock-ups, supports self-service analytics, identifies data quality gaps, and ensures delivered solutions meet business needs through solution validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and business sign-off.




Responsibilities
- Develop business acumen across Crude, Refined Products, NGLs, Natural Gas, LNG, and related trading domains.
- Lead business-facings requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Elicit, document, and manage business, functional, reporting, and data requirements.
- Create and validate report, dashboard, and data model mock-ups to confirm business requirements and solution approaches.
- Guide business users and Citizen Developers in discovering, understanding, joining, and utilizing enterprise data products while promoting self-service analytics best practices.
- Identify, document, and coordinate resolution of data quality issues across data sources, datasets, and reporting solutions.
- Perform data validation and functional testing of reports, dashboards, analytics solutions, and data products.
