RYZ Labs is looking for a Staff Software Engineer (Elixir) to join one of our
client’s teams in the sports merchandising industry

We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to work across the client’s card
technology platform and help connect multiple product and engineering domains.
This is a hands-on role focused on building, evolving, and maintaining
large-scale systems while driving technical decisions, improving engineering
practices, and helping teams work more effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong proficiency in Elixir and functional programming concepts.

• Proven experience building and maintaining production applications with Elixir
and Phoenix.

• Experience owning and evolving large systems spanning multiple services,
repositories, and teams.

• Strong understanding of software architecture and experience driving technical
decisions across teams.

• Experience with Phoenix LiveView is strongly preferred.

• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge, including query optimization and performance
tuning.





• Experience building data ingestion pipelines or ETL processes, particularly
from third-party data sources.

• Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues, and cross-service
data consistency.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, particularly with complex,
numerical, or data-intensive systems.

• Experience working with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and
collaborative development practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
influence technical direction across teams.

• Experience working effectively in highly autonomous and primarily remote
environments.

What makes you stand out:

• Experience with AWS services such as SQS/SNS, S3, Athena, or Glue.

• Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes/EKS.

• Experience with event sourcing, CQRS, or schema-versioned events such as
Protobuf or Avro.
