We are looking for an Engineering Manager - Backend to lead and grow a team of backend engineers responsible for designing, building, and scaling cloud-based, data-intensive systems. Reporting to senior engineering leadership, you will balance technical leadership, people management, and delivery ownership, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, scalable backend services while continuously improving engineering practices.

This role is adecuado for a strong backend engineer who has transitioned (or is transitioning) into people leadership and thrives in environments handling large-scale data and distributed systems.

Responsibilities
What You'll Achieve
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Own delivery and execution for your team, ensuring backend services are designed, built, tested, and supported to meet business and reliability goals.
- Guide architecture and technical decisions for scalable,



high-availability backend systems and RESTful APIs running in the cloud.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, and other Engineering teams to translate business requirements into clear technical plans and priorities.
- Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, observability, security, and performance across backend services.
- Drive the development of independent, scalable services for processing large volumes of data (ETL pipelines, data services).
- Support agile ways of working, including planning, estimation, backlog prioritization, and continuous delivery.
- Contribute technically when needed through design reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on problem solving.
