About the Role:
As our Lead QA Engineer, you'll establish and lead our QA strategy, working directly with our Head of Engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of the Maximus platform. This is a key leadership position where you'll build and manage our QA team while implementing scalable testing processes. This is a player-coach positionwhere hands-on IC work will also be required.

Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a high-performing QA team, establishing best practices and mentoring team members
- Design and implement automated testing frameworks that support our event-sourced architecture
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams during sprint planning to ensure quality is built into our development process
- Establish quality metrics and reporting mechanisms to track and improve system reliability
- Ensure testing coverage for HIPAA compliance and healthcare-specific requirements
- Create and maintain test plans for critical systems including prescription management,



lab testing integrations, and payment processing
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide quality-focused input during backlog refinement
- 5+ years of QA engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Ruby/Rails and React testing frameworks
- Background in healthcare technology or HIPAA-compliant systems preferred
- Strong understanding of API testing
- Proven track record of building and scaling QA processes in fast-growing organizations
- Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools
- Excellence in written communication and documentation
- Background in agile methodologies and sprint-based development

Technical Stack / Skills:
- Testing Frameworks: RSpec, Jest, Cypress
- CI/CD: Experience with automated testing pipelines
- Monitoring & Debugging: Familiarity with APM
