About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Shorts Director to lead the creative direction of SolarBalls (https://www.youtube.com/solarballs)' YouTube Shorts.

You'll own the creative process from idea to final delivery, helping us create engaging short-form animation that reaches new audiences and drives subscriber growth. You'll combine storytelling, animation direction, YouTube expertise, and team leadership to build a scalable Shorts production pipeline.

This role is idóneo for someone who understands both animation production and what makes content succeed on YouTube.

What You'll Do

- Lead the creative development of SolarBalls Shorts from concept to publication.
- Transform educational and entertainment ideas into compelling short-form animated content.
- Direct the production process, including pacing, timing, storytelling, visual comedy, and overall execution.
- Collaborate closely with animators, editors, and designers to deliver high-quality Shorts.
- Continuously develop new Shorts formats and creative experiments.
- Analyze content performance and use data to improve future Shorts.
- Help build and scale the dedicated Shorts production team over time.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong creative leadership with a deep understanding of the YouTube ecosystem and what makes animated content succeed on the platform.

Must-have qualifications:

- Proven experience directing animated content, preferably for YouTube.
- Previous experience leading creative or animation teams.




- Excellent understanding of YouTube content strategy, audience behavior, and content optimization.
- Experience creating or directing original short-form content, or a strong understanding of the creative principles behind successful Shorts.
- Strong visual storytelling instincts, with an eye for pacing, comedic timing, and engaging animation.
- Experience working with Moho animation pipelines.
- Experience providing creative direction and actionable feedback across multiple disciplines, including animators, scriptwriters, illustrators, editors, and other creative collaborators.
- Ability to balance creative excellence with production efficiency and deadlines.

Preferred:

- Experience creating content specifically for YouTube rather than traditional film or television.
- Experience creating or directing high-performing or viral animated Shorts.
- Familiarity with animation production workflows and pipeline management.
- Experience collaborating with thumbnail, packaging, and creative optimization teams.
- Comfortable using performance data and audience insights to inform creative decisions and iterate on content.
