Your Role and Responsibilities Become a IBMer and continue your professional growth as a "System Database Administrator: Oracle". - They provide enterprise-wide, Oracle DBA support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support.

- Oracle DBAs provide Development and/or Production support. This includes installing Oracle software; creating Oracle databases; performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels; starting up and shutting down the database; managing the database's storage structures; managing users and security; managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views; making database backups and performing recovery when necessary; proactively monitoring the database's health and taking preventive or corrective action as required; and monitoring and tuning performance. - To automate related tasks, Oracle DBAs create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. They also research, evaluate, design, test, ecommend, and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools. Responsabilities: - Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialised role - Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs and views - Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner - Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data - Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses - Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users - Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards - Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity - Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required Required Technical and Professional Expertise BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification Proven working experience as a Database Administrator Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL Familiarity with documentation and coding Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools Familiarity with programming languages API Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise NA About Business Unit At Global Technology Services (GTS), we help our clients envision the future by offering end-to-end IT and technology support services, supported by an unmatched global delivery network.
