Role Description The Integration Engineer will work remotely on a contract basis, focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining integrations between NYBANQ’s platform, banking partners, and client systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing integration requirements, building and testing APIs and data flows, and ensuring reliable connectivity across payment and digital asset services. The role involves troubleshooting integration issues, coordinating with internal engineering and product teams, and documenting technical specifications and workflows.
The Integration
Engineer will also contribute to system performance improvements, monitor integration health, and support onboarding of new partners and clients to NYBANQ’s financial infrastructure.
This person would typically be responsible for:
- Integrating REST APIs and webhooks with banks and partners.
- Implementing ACH, Wire, RTP, card, and payout integrations.
- Integrating with KYC/KYB/AML providers.
- Implementing authentication methods such as OAuth 2.0, API keys, mTLS, JWT, certificates, etc.
- Managing webhooks and event processing.
- Handling errors, retries, and idempotency.
- Reconciling data and transactions across systems.
- Managing the integration lifecycle from sandbox → certification → production.
- Monitoring the health and performance of integrations.
- Maintaining technical documentation.
- Coordinating with partner engineering teams during implementation and incident resolution.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills and experience in diagnosing complex system behaviors and data flows.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting integration issues across APIs, messaging queues, and payment systems.
- Hands-on Software Development experience (e.g., Python, Java, or similar languages) for building and maintaining integration logic.
- Demonstrated Integration experience with third-party APIs, banking platforms, or fintech services.
- Background in Systems Engineering, including designing scalable, secure, and reliable distributed systems.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and JSON/XML data formats; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of financial services, payments, or digital asset infrastructure is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and manage multiple integration projects.
