Responsibilities
- Provide quotations to potential clients for large, industry-related shipments
- Complete shipping and customs documentation and ensure correct paperwork
- Arrange parcel transportation, selecting appropriate mode (rail, boat, plane, truck) and freight carriers
- Arrange insurance, inspections, payment of tariffs and duties, and brokerage services as part of the quote
- Follow up with customs officers in receiving country to resolve issues
- Develop and maintain relationships with insurance companies, freight carriers, customs agents, and other service providers
- Discover and win new business opportunities and provide accurate service estimates
- Use computerized systems to streamline the process

Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of shipping rules and customs clearance documentation requirements
- Understanding of insurance requirements and transportation methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, logistics professionals, and customs inspectors
- Outgoing personality, enjoys significant social interaction and facilitating client relationships
- Ability to navigate and use computerized systems for quoting and documentation
