Description:
The Córdoba pod keeps roughly 50,000 internet-connected video recorders running around the clock for our customers. This engineer helps build and automate the software that keeps that fleet healthy. It's hands-on engineering on live, production systems, not process work.
Your day-to-day will mix three things: building new tools and services, diagnosing and fixing real issues on live devices alongside your teammates, and documenting what you learn so the whole team moves faster. You'll be joining a small, tight-knit, evidence-driven pod that punches above its weight, it produces the majority of the platform's commit volume and has stayed stable for years.
You'll help lead several new platform initiatives: fleet-operations services, fleet-automation and rollout tooling, a core-system refactor for fault isolation, and security hardening. These are green-field opportunities, as you'll partner directly with the manager on real fleet problems from day one, with real ownership rather than a slow ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain the software and tooling that keeps a fleet of ~50,000 connected devices healthy
- Own one of the new platform tracks: fleet-operations services, fleet-automation/rollout tooling, the fault-isolation refactor, or security hardening
- Diagnose and fix real problems on live devices, working alongside teammates and escalating/collaborating as needed
- Participate in the customer-issue/bridge rotation, moving from guided troubleshooting toward independently resolving routine issues
- Produce design drafts for new work and get them reviewed with a tech lead before building
- Ship code end-to-end
- Document findings, fixes, and system knowledge
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
- 2+ years building or maintaining software on Linux
- Solid computer science and systems fundamentals
- Strong Python, plus working proficiency in at least two other programming languages
- Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, o
