The Senior Backend Engineer plays a crucial role in building and maintaining payment systems and financial infrastructure for our platform application. This is a key position within the Payments Team, requiring deep domain expertise in payment processing and fintech. The role is part of the Platform Community, with hiring and technology policies defined and owned by the Engineering Manager.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain high-quality payment features and financial infrastructure using Node.js
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable payment processing flows, reconciliation processes, financial ledger systems including double-entry bookkeeping, and idempotent payment operations
- Collaborate with the product team and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of payment systems with the broader platform
