Role Description The Oracle Simphony Specialist is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and supporting Oracle Simphony POS environments for restaurant and retail clients. This contract, remote role involves performing system setup and updates, managing menus and pricing, and ensuring integrations with payment systems, inventory tools, and other third-party applications function smoothly. The specialist collaborates with client stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot technical and operational issues, and provide clear documentation and training to end users.

Day-to-day tasks include monitoring system performance, resolving support tickets, participating in implementation or migration projects, and aligning configurations with client business processes and brand standards.



The role also requires proactive communication with internal teams and clients to ensure timely delivery of solutions and adherence to project timelines.

Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with Oracle Simphony configuration, menu management, and POS administration for multi-site restaurant or retail environments.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting POS issues, analyzing logs, and resolving connectivity and integration problems with payment, inventory, and reporting systems.
- Familiarity with implementation or rollout projects, including requirement gathering, system testing, user acceptance testing, and go-live support.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation, configuration guides, and simple training materials for non-technical end users and stakeholders.
- Comfort working remotely with distributed teams, using collaboration tools, and managing tasks and priorities in a contract-based environment.
- Solid understanding of restaurant or retail operations (front-of-house and back-of-house processes) and how POS configurations support business workflows.
- Relevant experience with other POS or retail systems is a plus; prior work with enterprise clients or large chains is highly beneficial.
- Preferred education: technical diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
