Email Designer (Figma) — Freelance, Remote — Ascend Marketing

Ascend is a specialized email marketing agency. We build email retention systems for ecommerce brands, including flows, campaigns, segmentation, and design that actually converts. We've delivered 2–3x increases in email revenue across clients and consistently drive 30%+ of client revenue through email.

We're growing, and we're looking for a strong email designer to help us take our design to the next level.

What you'll do

Design emails in Figma for the ecom brands we work with, including campaigns, flows, and campaign-themed templates (Black Friday, holiday, seasonal). Everything from concept to a finished design ready to build in Klaviyo. You'll work closely with the founder on strategy and messaging, then translate it into clean, high-converting designs that look sharp in the inbox.

We're looking for someone who:

- Has solid email design experience in Figma for ecom/DTC brands
- Understands that great email design is more than looking good: hierarchy, clear CTAs, mobile optimization, and conversion
- Delivers fast and consistently without dropping quality
- Is self-directed, takes ownership, and needs minimal hand-holding
- Communicates well in English and is comfortable working async with a remote team

Nice to have (not required):

- Experience with Klaviyo or other ESPs
- Previous work with a retention/email agency
- A portfolio that shows real ecom email work (this one is required)

About the role: This is a high-intensity, high-reward role. We move fast, and there will be times, including some evenings and weekends, when we need you responsive on Slack, especially during big campaign pushes like Black Friday. In exchange, you'll be rewarded for what you put in, work with brands you'll be proud of,



and have real room to grow as we scale.

If you want a strict 9-to-5 with no after-hours contact, this isn't the fit, and that's completely fine. But, if you're wanting to have real ownership and impact over the design of growing ecom brands, keep reading.

Compensation

Pay depends on experience and is structured to grow as you do. We start freelance/part-time (~20 hours per week) and scale hours, rate, and responsibility for the right person as we grow. There's a clear path here for someone who wants to eventually own the design side. Share your rate expectations in the application and we'll find a fit that works for both sides. We're not afraid to pay well for good work.
