The Host is responsible for greeting guests as they arrive and thanking them as they exit, as well as managing take out operations during service. The host manages reservations and seats guests in an organized manner, while also distributing take-out orders to guests and third party services, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the smooth flow of the dining room during service.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsible for opening, running, and closing side work
- Maintain the host stand area so that it is clean and organized at all times
- Clean, organize, and stock menus in the host stand area
- Welcome guest quickly upon arrival; Seat guests and presents guests with menus; Thank guests as they are exiting the restaurant
- Promptly address guest complaints and issues; involve management when necessary to ensure the guest leaves the restaurant satisfied
- Take reservations in accordance with our reservation policy and with permission of management if required
- Run restaurant floor effectively
- Keep track of open, occupied, reserved, and dirty tables
- Take guest information, quote accurate wait times while on a wait
- Answers guest inquiries and conveys important information to the appropriate parties such as birthdays or other special guest dining requests
- Contribute to team effort, help other team members to accomplish related results
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures,



standards and practices
- Fills to-go orders if applicable
- Perform other duties and tasks as needed

Required Education and Experience:

- Some high school
- Excellent speaking and oral communication skills

Work Environment: This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level is often loud, and the work station may be drafty due to its location. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping and tripping.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time, continuously reach, bend, and lift items up to 20 lbs. Must be able to talk, hear, and speak professionally in English.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
