Role Overview

As a Senior RPG / IBM i Developer at CodingIT, you will support, maintain, and modernize IBM i (AS/400) environments for U.S. manufacturing and industrial clients. You will work across the full lifecycle — from day-to-day support and RPG development to DB2 for i, OS upgrades, EDI, and integrations — pairing classic IBM i expertise with modern tooling (VS Code, AI code assistants).



You will operate within a collaborative support pool, so no single client ever depends on a single person.

You have:

5+ years hands-on RPG on IBM i, solid DB2 for i / SQL, comfort with IBM i administration (PTFs, subsystems, backups/HA), and
professional English

(client-facing).

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and maintenance of RPG applications on IBM i across a portfolio of U.S. clients (ticket / retainer model).
- Develop and modify programs in RPG (RPGLE / ILE and free-format), with the ability to read and maintain legacy fixed-format code.
- Write and optimize CL, DB2 for i, and SQL for queries, reports, and integrations.
- Apply PTFs and operating-system upgrades with sound risk and rollback judgment.
- Support EDI and integrations with external systems (web services / APIs).
- Collaborate within a shared support pool, taking ownership of tickets as capacity allows.
