General Definition Of Work

This position will have contact with court personnel, attorneys, judges, and clients. This position will also provide a wide variety of clerical duties, to include processing court orders, triggers, preparing correspondence, filing, and other related duties. Good organizational skills are a must. Data manipulations through various computer/word processing, Word, Internet, spreadsheet, and file maintenance programs are often essential duties. Will be trained in the ACTS and NC Fast systems for Child Support. Customer service responsibilities include contact with all case participants, judicial personnel, sheriff’s office and other in and out of county offices. Public assistance client contact, information gathering for cases, answering questions related to absent parents and child support distribution. This position may be called upon at any time to perform tasks for supervisors or other agents creating frequent interruptions. Ensure all cases are properly calendared and assigned time slots for court. Ability to interview applicants,



gather information for applications for child support to pass to CSA I, inform applicants of child support policy and procedures. Knowledge of service of process and timeframes. This position must become familiar with Court filings and be able to identify information necessary to determine service and all other information requested from Court file for the Agent. The ability to learn the Odyssey E-Filing system. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Significant knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods, and practices. Significant knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and office terminology to compose and/or proofread correspondence, reports, and other materials.
