This role will partner closely with business leaders, Legal, Risk, Control Management, Internal Audit, and general Compliance teams to help ensure that local regulatory obligations and enterprise policies are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will bring strong compliance judgment, hands-on experience with financial services regulation, privacy, anti-corruption, consumer protection matters, and the ability to provide credible challenge while enabling responsible business growth. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a dynamic market, working across local and international stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

- Support the execution, governance, and continuous improvement of the Compliance program for American Express in Argentina.
- Provide practical and independent Compliance guidance to business partners on applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Support oversight of anti-corruption, privacy, consumer protection, and other regulatory compliance programs relevant to the market.
- Monitor regulatory developments and help assess their impact on local business activities, policies, procedures, controls, and training needs.
- Partner with Legal, Risk, Control Management, Internal Audit, Operations, Marketing, Servicing, and other stakeholders to embed compliance requirements into business processes.
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, risk assessments, testing, monitoring activities, and remediation plans.
- Contribute to Compliance training, awareness initiatives, and communications that promote a strong culture of integrity and accountability.

- Lead compliance risk assessments and support the identification, documentation, and escalation of key compliance risks, control gaps, and emerging issues.
- Prepare and present compliance updates, risk insights, metrics, and governance materials for local and regional management forums.
- Review and enhance local compliance policies, procedures, standards, and control documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and enterprise expectations.
- Demonstrate manager-level ownership by driving priorities independently, collaborating across functions, and escalating matters app

Qualifications

- Relevant professional experience in Compliance, Legal, Risk, Internal Audit, or a related control function within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of anti-corruption, privacy, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance principles.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders, influence decisions, and provide credible challenge in a constructive and solutions-oriented manner.
- Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining a strong compliance culture.
