Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers role is a part-time, remote position responsible for organizing and supporting all aspects of volunteer engagement. Day-to-day tasks include recruiting volunteers, coordinating onboarding and training, and maintaining accurate volunteer records and schedules. The role involves providing guidance and support to volunteers, monitoring participation, and ensuring a positive and inclusive volunteer experience. The Coordinator will collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify volunteer needs, plan assignments, and support community outreach initiatives. This position also includes developing clear communication materials, tracking outcomes, and recommending improvements to volunteer programs.
Qualifications
Ability to oversee Volunteer Management, including scheduling, tracking participation, and supporting volunteer retention.
Experience with Volunteer Training,
including developing training materials and facilitating virtual sessions.
Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, provide feedback, and collaborate with diverse volunteers and staff.
Background in Community Outreach, with the capacity to promote opportunities and represent the organization in external engagements.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation.
Comfort with remote work tools and basic office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, video conferencing platforms).
Prior experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit or community-based work is preferred.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and uphold inclusive and non-discriminatory practices.
