About the role GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build and maintain systems that drive search, recommendations, and personalization. You will work within a technical team to develop solutions that improve how users discover and support causes on our platform.
Key facts
- Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Engagement: Full-time, 3 days per week in-office

What you'll do
- Build and deploy machine learning models for personalization, fraud detection, and recommendation engines.
- Create taxonomy and ontology structures to improve content classification and entity understanding.
- Develop graph-based models and utilize knowledge graphs to enhance retrieval and discovery.
- Design scalable, fault-tolerant services that maintain low latency in high-throughput environments.
- Monitor model performance using online and offline metrics to ensure high relevance and engagement.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to improve ML workflows.

Requirements




- 4+ years of professional experience in machine learning, applied ML engineering, or data science.
- Proven track record of deploying production-grade ML systems, including data pipelines and model serving.
- Experience with search, retrieval, and recommendation systems.
- Proficiency in designing and using taxonomies, embeddings, and entity resolution.
- Ability to manage complex projects, define scope, and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have
- Experience integrating search and recommendation capabilities into end-to-end user discovery experiences.
- Practical knowledge of graph databases and graph algorithms for ML applications.
