Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain software and automation that keep our AWS database fleet reliable, observable and self‑healing.
- Write production‑grade code in Python and Java to remove manual toil, codify operational knowledge and improve mean time to recovery.
- Own SLOs, error budgets and the reliability roadmap for managed database platforms such as RDS, Aurora and DynamoDB.
- Build the monitoring, alerting and diagnostics that give engineering and support clear insight into platform health.
- Partner with product engineering and Site Reliability leaders to feed reliability and supportability requirements back into the product.
- Lead resolution of the most challenging database and infrastructure issues, then engineer.

Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with AWS, especially managed database services such as RDS, Aurora or DynamoDB.
- A software engineering mindset applied to reliability: you solve operational problems with code rather than manual effort.
- Understanding of AI and ML concepts,



with the ability to analyze AI use cases and build solutions that incorporate AI as part of the design.
- Strong software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Java, Go, C++.
- Experience designing, building and running resilient services, with an understanding of SLOs, error budgets and on‑call.
- Understanding of cloud, virtualization, APIs and modern software design.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and Jenkins.
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Splunk, DynaTrace, etc.
- Experience building full‑stack solutions on cloud platforms.
- Understanding of agile and lean philosophies, and ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to management teams.
