The Spanish (LATAM) Linguist performs translation and copy-editing tasks for assigned projects and accounts, ensuring consistent, high-quality deliverables. They will coordinate with freelance linguists and partner agencies, maintain and improve language resources, resolve terminology and usage queries, and collaborate with internal teams to streamline workflows and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Perform copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts
Perform on-demand translation tasks
Provide lead support on assigned projects or accounts
Manage and maintain all language assets (glossaries, style guides, work instructions), ensuring they meet quality standards and remain current for each account or project
Manage project-related queries
Ensure good interaction among team members and resolve questions on terminology and language matters
Develop and train internal linguists and external partners according to the accounts’ and Welocalize’s needs
Interact with clients on linguistic matters as needed
Participate in the development of new and improved working processes
Meet or exceed the KPIs in terms of productivity, on-time delivery, and quality
Achieve the goals set by the team manager

Requirements
Education Level
Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or a related field; alternatively, a bachelor’s in another discipline plus at least 2 years of full-time translation experience, or a minimum of 5 years of full-time professional translation experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience
Native fluency in Latam Spanish
Fluency in English—both written and spoken—with strong command across multiple registers
4+ years of experience in translation, localization, editing or content writing
2+ years of review experience
Thorough understanding of localization processes
Good user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications
Solid working proficiency with standard C
