We are seeking a Chief-level Data Engineer to shape data semantics, governance, and AI/ML integration within an AWS-based engagement. You will own key technical decisions, guide the data engineering workstream, and apply Amazon SageMaker and Agents to deliver outcomes—apply now.
Responsibilities
Lead the data engineering workstream and own technical decisions end to end
Design data governance frameworks that support scalable, compliant data usage
Implement data governance processes and operating rhythms across stakeholders
Define data models, ontologies, and semantic layers for analytics and consumption
Leverage Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio to integrate AI/ML capabilities into data products
Build and configure AI Agents to enable intelligent workflows and assisted analytics
Support analytics platform architecture decisions aligned with AWS best practices
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align requirements, priorities, and delivery
Validate solution quality through reviews, documentation, and practical enablement
Requirements
7+ years of data engineering experience at expert level
2+ years of leadership experience leading data engineering workstreams
Proven project experience designing analytics platforms aligned with AWS best practices
Expert knowledge of Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio
Expert knowledge of AI Agents for AI/ML integration
Advanced knowledge of data governance and governance processes
AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty certification
Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)
Nice to have
Data semantics and ontology design experience
Hands-on experience with AWS Glue
Hands-on experience with Amazon Athena
Hands-on experience with AWS Lake Formation
