Role Description The Heritage Tech Advisor is a part-time, remote role focused on guiding organizations and communities in the use of technology to preserve, manage, and share cultural heritage and historical assets. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing clients’ heritage-related technology needs, recommending appropriate digital tools and platforms, and supporting implementation of solutions such as digital archives, content management systems, and data storage strategies. The Heritage Tech Advisor collaborates with stakeholders to develop practical workflows for digitization, documentation, and long-term preservation, and provides training and guidance to help users adopt new technologies confidently. The role also involves preparing clear documentation, reports, and recommendations, staying current with best practices in heritage technology, and participating in virtual meetings and consultations across different time zones.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with digital tools, platforms, or systems used for cultural heritage, archives, or historical preservation,



and the ability to advise on practical technology solutions.
Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving, and translating complex technical concepts into accessible, user-friendly guidance for diverse stakeholders.
Ability to design or optimize workflows and processes related to digitization, data organization, and long-term storage of cultural and historical assets.
Effective remote collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication, documentation, and the use of online meeting and project management tools.
Experience working with museums, archives, libraries, community heritage projects, or similar environments is highly beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage part-time hours flexibly, and handle multiple projects or clients concurrently.
