Network Engineer – Level 2 (L2)
Experience: 4–6 years of relevant experience
Role Summary
The L2 Network Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining Cisco network devices, routing and switching infrastructure, and cloud networking components. This role ensures network performance,
availability, and security while supporting IT operations and incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Cisco routers, switches, and network devices.
- Configure and maintain subnetting, BGP and OSPF routing protocols, high availability,
redundancy, and remote access protocols.
- Manage basic network services including DNS, DHCP, and NTP.
- Support AWS network infrastructure (Transit Gateways, Load Balancers, Direct Connect, NAT
Gateways, Internet Gateways, Site-to-Site VPN).
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to manage cloud network infrastructure.
- Ensure network security by understanding firewalls, network perimeters, and segmentation.
- Configure and maintain network monitoring tools (Solarwinds, Netflow Analyzer, PRTG) and protocols (SNMP, Netflow).
- Monitor cloud networks using AWS CloudWatch, FlowLogs, or equivalent.
- Apply ITSM principles for incident, problem, change, and service request management using
ServiceNow or similar tools.
- Create and maintain network documentation.
Skills & Competencies:
- CCNA certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Cisco network device management, routing, and switching.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, AWS infrastructure, and IaC.
- Familiarity with network security principles.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- English B2+.
Network Engineer – Level 3 (L3)
Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience
Role Summary
The L3 Network Engineer is a senior expert responsible for designing, deploying, and managing complex network infrastructures across on-premise and cloud environments. This role leads high-impact network operations, optimizes performance, ensures security, and provides technical guidance to junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Cisco routers, switches, and network devices.
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS network infrastructure (Transit Gateways, Load Balancers,
Direct Connect, NAT Gateways, Internet Gateways, Site-to-Site VPN).
- Apply advanced routing, high-availability, redundancy, and security solutions.
- Implement and manage cloud network Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for devices and services
(Meraki, Cisco Firewall, Fortinet Firewall, Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM).
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot security devices on-premise and in cloud.
- Integrate and manage network monitoring tools (Solarwinds, Netflow Analyzer, PRTG) and observability platforms.
- Monitor cloud network performance using AWS CloudWatch, FlowLogs, and equivalent tools,
including reporting and troubleshooting.
- Apply ITSM principles for incident, problem, change, and service request management using
ServiceNow or similar tools.
- Manage technical escalations, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Mentor and guide L2 engineers and cross-functional teams.
Skills & Competencies:
- CCNP certification or equivalent experience.
- Expert-level knowledge in network design, routing, switching, and cloud networking.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS network services and cloud IaC.
- Strong expertise in network security principles and monitoring tools.
- Proven ability to handle escalations and complex network issues.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- English B2+.
