JOB PURPOSE
The Email Marketing Specialist is a key member of the Email Center of Excellence responsible for executing customer engagement and lifecycle marketing initiatives across multiple brands, business units, and communication programs.
This role partners closely with marketing stakeholders to build, test, deploy, monitor, and optimize email communications that support acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, loyalty, and reactivation objectives.
The Email Marketing Specialist serves as a trusted execution partner, managing campaign production from intake through deployment while ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, quality assurance, and adherence to email marketing best practices.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Email Marketing Execution & Lifecycle Campaign Support (50%)
– Build, test, and deploy email campaigns, customer journey communications, and lifecycle marketing programs using enterprise marketing platforms and approved content creation tools.
Create and maintain email content using Knak, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and other approved marketing technologies.
Configure audience selections, personalization elements, dynamic content, scheduling, and deployment settings.
Support customer lifecycle initiatives including onboarding, engagement, retention, loyalty, and reactivation communications.
Source, organize, and manage campaign assets while ensuring alignment with brand standards and business requirements.
Execute campaigns with a focus on speed, accuracy, scalability, and customer experience.
Campaign Management & Stakeholder Coordination (25%)
– Coordinate campaign requirements, timelines, approvals, and deliverables across stakeholders, creative teams, and internal partners.
Manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of organization and accountability.
Communicate proactively regarding project status, risks,
dependencies, and deployment readiness.
Ensure campaign details are accurate, complete, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
Support intake processes and campaign documentation requirements.
Reporting, Testing & Optimization (15%)
– Monitor and report on email campaign performance using available reporting and analytics tools.
Assist with A/B testing initiatives, performance analysis, and optimization efforts.
Identify trends, insights, and opportunities to improve engagement, operational efficiency, and campaign effectiveness.
Support reporting requests and performance reviews for stakeholders.
Quality Assurance, Brand Compliance & Continuous Improvement (10%)
– Perform campaign quality assurance reviews including content validation, link testing, personalization testing, rendering reviews, and accessibility checks.
Ensure communications align with brand standards, marketing best practices, and established quality expectations.
Maintain knowledge of email marketing trends, platform capabilities, and industry best practices.
Recommend process improvements that support operational efficiency and execution excellence.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Digital Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
Certifications: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Specialist Certification required.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator Certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in email marketing, digital marketing, campaign execution, or related marketing disciplines.
Minimum 1 year managing projects, campaigns, stakeholders, or client relationships.
Experience building and deploying email marketing campaigns within enterprise marketing platforms; supporting customer engagement, lifecycle marketing, or CRM-based initiatives; reporting on campaign performance and translating data into actionable insights.
Knowledge & Skills: Working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce and/or Account Engagement (Pardot); experience using Knak or comparable content creation and campaign production tools; strong understanding of email marketing best practices, personalization, segmentation, testing methodologies, and customer engagement principles; strong quality assurance skills (content validation, link testing, rendering reviews, campaign verification); working knowledge of HTML and CSS as it relates to email marketing and template editing; familiarity with CRM data, audience segmentation, and customer communication strategies; excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects, lead meetings, and juggle competing priorities; demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to execution excellence; ability to work independently and proactively within a fast‐paced environment.
