Company OverviewOur client is a marketing agency that partners with higher education institutions to grow enrollment and improve marketing performance.
Their consulting practice works alongside university and college partners to diagnose challenges, evaluate opportunities, and develop strategies that drive measurable outcomes.Your RoleThis is a production role: you own the research, the data, and the drafts that make every engagement possible.
On more defined, repeatable engagements, you run the process nearly end to end.
On more complex strategic projects, you own the research and synthesis layer and hand over findings organized well enough to become the foundation of the final recommendation.You'll:Conduct market and competitive research across a portfolio of client engagementsAudit client and competitor marketing experiences: websites, email, and inquiry flowsPull and analyze data from third-party research platforms to support audience segmentation and market sizingBuild first-draft reports and strategic documents from research briefs and defined templatesManage timelines across multiple concurrent engagements, coordinating inputs from internal teamsQA every deliverable for accuracy, formatting, and completeness before it reaches leadershipYou Bring:3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, research, or an agency environmentStrong written English, comfortable producing structured,
professional reports and presentationsExperience pulling and working with data from third-party research platforms or databasesExperience conducting market research, competitive analysis, and audience segmentationComfortable synthesizing findings from multiple sources into clear, actionable summariesHighly organized and self-directed, able to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines without close supervisionProficient in Google Slides, PowerPoint, or an equivalent presentation toolBonus Points:Experience at a marketing agency or in a client-services environmentExperience producing client-facing deliverables: reports, audits, or strategic presentationsComfort working within defined frameworks while still bringing judgment to ambiguous situationsFamiliarity with higher education marketingWhat's Offered:Fully remote work, roughly 40 hours a week, with flexibility inside U.S. time zonesCompetitive compensation based on experience and scope, paid weekly in USD as a contractorReal ownership over the research and drafts that shape client recommendations, not just execution of someone else's outline20 days of PTO a year, covering holidays, sick time, and regular time off combined, plus a computer and starter equipment providedA team that hands you ambiguous research questions and trusts what you bring backInterview Process:1️⃣ Intro call on your research and writing background2️⃣ Research and writing exercise: structuring a sample brief into an organized draft3️⃣ Team interview on collaboration and communication style4️⃣ Final interview with leadership
