Job Overview

We’re looking for Kaqchikel language specialists who live and breathe regional dialects, phonetics, syntax, idiomatic expressions, oral traditions, and cultural references. You’ll challenge advanced language models on topics like contextual interpretation, tone and meaning, dialectical distinctions, semantic accuracy, and cultural nuance—documenting every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning.

Responsibilities

- On a typical day, converse with the model in Kaqchikel across a wide range of topics.
- Verify linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Capture reproducible error traces and suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

Qualifications

- A Master's degree in Linguistics, Indigenous Studies, Translation, or a related field.
- Professional experience in teaching, translation, language documentation,



or community work.
- Clear, metacognitive communication—“showing your work”—is essential.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay range of $8 to $65 per hour, determined after evaluating your experience, expertise, and geographic location.

As a contractor, you’ll supply a secure computer and high-speed internet; company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply.
