About the role

A Los Angeles founder is hiring his first Operations & Research Assistant. He runs a real estate investment and development company plus other ventures across various industries. He's operated solo for 10 years, is allergic to screens and administrative work, and needs someone to become an extension of his brain across operations, research, and organization.

He's a 10 at ideas, execution, negotiation, strategy, and sales. He's a 0 at research, digging into new topics, and organizing information. This role exists to take those things off his plate entirely.

He does not run a boss-employee dynamic. He runs a flat structure where each person owns their domain. His domain is ideas, execution, negotiation, strategy, and sales. Your domain is operations, research, and administration.

Hard requirements
- Strategic research experience.

You've been the person who takes an open-ended question (evaluate this business idea, compare these vendors, vet this provider, dig into this new topic)



and comes back with a structured analysis and a recommendation.
- Named inbox methodology.

You have a specific system (Inbox Zero, GTD, or your own defensible approach) and can walk through exactly how you'd apply it to a founder juggling multiple businesses and contexts.
- Excellent written and spoken English.

Neutral or light accent. You'll be representing the founder in written and phone communication with US businesses.
Written English is important because of email communication but the phone work can have accent as long as the English is fine.
- Experience creating SOPs
and bringing order to environments with no processes.
- AI fluency.
You use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Make.com, Zapier) as part of your daily workflow(i.e. inbox folders)

- You don't have experience assisting with research tasks and organizing information for decision-making
- You've never managed a chaotic inbox
