Why this role is important to us
The Senior Quant Developer at SimCorp, is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of software solutions within the QPRA team.
With typically 5+ years of experience in software engineering, this role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products that address complex business and financial challenges.
The Lead Software Engineer will contribute to the architecture of SimCorp’s solutions, ensuring that they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with product and business goals.
This position requires solid technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to mentor and guide less experienced engineers while supporting continuous improvement in software development practices.
What you will be responsible for
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software for financial derivatives and development tools.
- Interact with subject matter experts to translate business requirements into detailed designs.
- Collaborate with product management, quantitative analysts, and engineering to implement valuation models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Quant solutions into SimCorp’s product suite.
- Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and code reviews.
- Monitor and improve CI/CD performance and reliability.
- Provide tier 3 support to client specialists by answering questions, troubleshooting, and fixing production issues.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Share these trends with peers.
What we value
- Bachelor’s (US or foreign equivalent, e.g. Master, Licenciatura) degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in programing with C#/.NET, C++, or Java (Python preferred).
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with numerical computing libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas, SciPy).
- Familiarity with financial markets, instruments, and trading concepts.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a quantitative finance environment (e.g., hedge fund, prop trading, investment bank).
- Direct experience building and orchestrating AI-powered, agentic workflows, such as multi-step LLM pipelines, tool-calling agents, or autonomous task automation.
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, or similar agent orchestration frameworks) and experience applying them to real product features.
- Experience containerizing applications with Docker and deploying/orchestrating them with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and containerization through infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Effective communication skills and ability to explain technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
