Overview
Team Lead Mechanical Maintenance is responsible for managing all aspects of mechanical maintenance of the complete plant through contractor staff and/or customer workforce to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership to the mechanical maintenance team in day-to-day maintenance activities.
All on-site mechanical, repair and inspection service activities at customer site (machining, NDT, critical welding).
Develop, supervise and coordinate plant maintenance activities.
Plan and inspect completed work on plant equipment.
Maintain records, prepare reports and compose correspondence.
Acquire knowledge of process and relevant mechanical and electrical systems throughout the plant to troubleshoot problems and lead the maintenance team in resolving issues.
Promote development and succession management in mechanical.
Train subordinates on preventive and corrective maintenance.
Communicate effectively with managers, peers, and team members verbally and in writing.
Execute work orders through CMMS and coordinate with mechanical team for job completion and technical matters.
Assist Maintenance Manager in planning and scheduling outage works within annual scheduled maintenance plan.
Assess plant needs for spare parts & supplies, generate material requisitions.
Coordinate with stores and procurement for inventory management.
Control plant inventory via CMMS system (Maximo).
Acquire full knowledge of EHS policies & procedures and ensure compliance.
Evaluate, plan and actively participate in plant housekeeping.




Assist and coordinate with EHS Manager/Supervisor on all EHS activities including implementation of policies/procedures, inspections and audits.
Ensure compliance in all areas of Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and procedures as applicable to maintenance activities.
Develop training schedules/plans for engineers and technicians in mechanical section.
Control all maintenance documents as outlined on the site Master List of Controlled Documents.
Assign preventive and corrective maintenance jobs to maintenance technicians as per the direction of Maintenance Manager.
Perform any other job assigned by management.
Qualifications
Graduate Mechanical Engineer or related field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 3 years of combined cycle power plant O&M; experience and minimum 5 years in team lead position in plant maintenance.
Minimum three years of O&M; experience at GE Vernova F Class Gas Turbines is a must.
Strong project management, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
Strong business and financial skills.
Experience costing, planning and managing plant outages.
Prior experience with GEV O&M; in same capacity is preferred.
Knowledge of GE products, services, and processes (GE employees only).
Prior customer interface experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proficiency with computer tools.
Understanding of CMMS like Maximo.
Fluent Spanish - English oral and written.
