The Logistics Safety Leader for Latin Americais responsible fordefining, driving, and sustaining the regional logisticssafety strategy , ensuring consistent deployment oflogisticssafety programmes and governance across all LA operations.The role focuses onstrengtheningour Safety Culture, across the regionbypromoting safety leadership, ownership, and accountability at all levels.The person willbe responsible fordrivingourcontinuouslogisticssafetyimprovementsthrough robust KPIsmonitoring, field engagement, andcross functionalcollaboration.The role will also ensuretherobust governance of EVD/iPOMS ,leadingroot cause analysis (RCA), andpromotingstrong field engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive and sustain the Logistics Safety Strategy for the Latin America region, aligned with general safety priorities.Lead deployment and governance of logisticssafety programmes , ensuring consistent execution across all LA operations.Own regional EVD andiPOMSgovernance , tracking adoption, data quality, and performance against targets.Lead incident investigations and RCAs , ensuring strong preventive and systemic actions are implemented and closed.Define, monitor, and report logisticssafety KPIs ,identifyingtrends, risks, and improvement opportunities.Conductand monitor programmes for gembawalks, site visits, andride along tovalidateexecution and reinforce safety culture.Participate in and support SafetyeCAPsaudits , ensuring calendar adherence, clear action plans are defined based on audit gaps, and actions are closed on time.Ensure all owned warehouses are conducting the Daily SafetyShift meetings, ensuringmeetingadherence,follow-upscare completed andaccountabilityisin place.Buildlogisticssafety capability through coaching and engagement withlogisticsteams, carriers, and key stakeholders.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain , Logistics, Engineering, Operations, Safety , or a related field.8+ years of experience inlogistics, transportation, supply chain,
or safety roles, with direct exposure to logisticssafety risk management.Proven experience driving safety programmes in complex,multicountyoperations , preferably across Latin America.Demonstrated experience managing chemical dangerous goods safety and chemical warehousing risk management, including handling, storage, transportation, and regulatory compliance requirements in logistics operationsStronghands-onexperience leading incident investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCA) with a focus on systemic and preventive actions.Demonstrated experience defining,monitoring, and managing safety KPIs (leading and lagging indicators).
Solid understanding of transportation safety, chemical transfer risk, contractor safety , andlogisticsoperational risks.Experience conducting field engagement activities such asgembawalks, site audits, andride alongprogrammes.Ability to influence and lead without direct authority, engagingcross functionalstakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Safety).
Strong analytical,problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to senior leadership.Willingness to travelfrequentlywithin the LA region.Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
Preferred QualificationsProfessional safety certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, CSP, IOSH, or equivalent ).
Direct experience implementing or governing digital safety tools and engineeredfail ‐ safesolutions.Experienceparticipatingin or leading SafetyeCAPs , or structured safety governance forums.Background working with global safety frameworks in matrix organisations.Demonstrated success in driving safety culture transformation , includingbehaviour-basedsafety, visible leadership, andspeak upculture.Experience working with third-partycarriers andlogisticsservice providers inhigh-riskor regulated environments.Strongchange managementcapability, witha track recordof converting strategy into disciplined execution.Portuguese languageproficiencyis a strong plus.
