Envision Mind Care is an Edmonton based mental health and addictions clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence informed care.
As our IV Therapy Program continues to grow, we are looking for an Anesthesiologist to support our IV ketamine and nutrition infusion services and see patients directly within our interventional psychiatry program.
This is a part-time, independent contractor opportunity for a specialist physician who wants to bring their anesthesia expertise into a meaningful, patient centered mental health setting.
Responsibilities
Providing IV ketamine and nutrition infusion sessionsAssessing and seeing patients directly, including pre-procedure evaluation and follow-up careWorking alongside our psychiatry, counseling, and nursing team to support integrated patient careMaintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with CPSA standardsResponding to and managing any acute clinical needs during infusion sessions
Qualifications
Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) certification in Anesthesiology, or specialist certification in Anesthesiology from a jurisdiction recognized by CPSA (such as the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa), supported by at least 48 months of continuous postgraduate specialty training equivalent to RCPSC requirementsPhysicians trained outside a CPSA-recognized jurisdiction may be eligible to pursue independent licensure through CPSA's Practice Readiness Assessment (PRA) pathwayMembership or eligibility with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)Legal entitlement to work in Canada, or willingness to pursue this with supportInterest or experience in mental health, addictions,
or interventional psychiatry is an assetComfort working independently as a contracted physician within a collaborative clinical teamStrong communication skills and a genuine, patient centered approach to care
Required Certifications And Screening
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certificationSatisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
All staff are generally required to provide and maintain a satisfactory Police Information Check, a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check, and current Basic Life Support certification, unless the clinic determines that an exception applies based on the role's duties, level of client contact, programme involvement, work setting, and operational requirements.
Where appropriate, the clinic may accept an equivalent, current, or otherwise satisfactory screening, certification, or related credentialing component already held through a regulatory body, professional college, employer, hospital, or other recognised source.
Additional screening, certification, or programme-specific requirements may apply depending on the position and assigned services.
