About Halter

At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations.

Our customers are using Halter to break free from time‑intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break—no quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. People say it looks like magic. Halter is revolutionizing grazing and transforming an industry, helping producers improve their livelihoods and build sustainable operations.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated, hands‑on Fleet Ops Manager to lead fleet operations on the ground in South America. As the first point of escalation in the field and the person who ensures hardware infrastructure runs without a hitch, you will own an operational system from the ground up, build a team of Fleet Ops Specialists, and collaborate closely with regional and general teams.

What Your Day Could Look Like

- Lead and develop a team of Fleet Ops Specialists, supporting growth and delivering feedback.
- Own performance management, set clear expectations, hold people accountable.
- Plan and schedule workloads across the region.
- Lead recruitment activities to keep the team resourced.
- Serve as the go‑to troubleshooting point for field issues.
- Build and own the maintenance system for South America.
- Perform hands‑on maintenance, hardware upkeep, and repairs.
- Diagnose hardware issues and communicate findings to internal teams.
- Support deployment activities, including drone mapping, installations, go‑live, and collaring.
- Participate in the global on‑call roster for hardware incidents.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze data to optimize processes and inform decision‑making.

- Feed field insights to product and engineering teams.
- Collaborate across Halter teams for alignment and customer outcomes.
- Travel 3–4 days a week across South America, and sometimes nights away from home.
- Take on any other tasks needed to ensure success in the early‑stage market entry.

Who Are We Looking For

- Proven leadership experience in field or operations teams.
- Hands‑on technical skills in tools, electrical work, construction, networking, or equipment fitting.
- Knowledge of South American cattle production.
- Proactive, owner‑mindset, self‑starter attitude.
- Strong communication skills in translating field observations into actionable feedback.
- Organised and structured in managing workloads and priorities.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and early‑stage dynamics.
- Commitment to excellence and high service standards.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the region.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.

Bonus Qualifications

- Broader agriculture or agri‑tech experience beyond cattle production.
- Experience scaling a team in an early‑stage or high‑growth environment.
