This position will be responsible for performing on-site installation of systems and equipment and for ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation.
Responsibilities
Leading and executing foundation and soft‑foot checks and adjustments.
Leading and executing assembly, installation, and alignment of equipment.
Leading and executing independent inspections of equipment.
Providing business ownership for work in assigned areas.
Establishing and maintaining business relationships with customers and Baker Hughes.
Providing leadership to balance customer service satisfaction and Baker Hughes objectives.
Driving safety, on‑time delivery, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
Performing field engineering service work as required to properly serve the customer.
Supporting emergent and emergency customer needs.
Creating an engaging work environment that motivates Baker Hughes and customer employees to perform optimally.
Owning the lessons‑learned process for Baker Hughes and customer efforts at assigned sites, ensuring all knowledge is applied to increase probability of achieving customer goals.
Supporting root‑cause analysis efforts within customer and Baker Hughes organizations related to failures, forced outages, and incidents of interest.
Qualifications
Engineering or technical degree.
Active Canadian registration (CREA or CFT).
Minimum five years of experience with turbomachinery (gas, steam, or heavy‑duty turbines) or equivalent in compressors.
Minimum two years of experience with Baker Hughes equipment, as attested by a company that has carried out scope in site operation, commissioning, and start‑up.
Capability to work under pressure, think clearly,
and make decisive decisions; strong teamwork skills.
Solid knowledge of compressors equipment.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, plus good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Exemplary leadership with excellent listening, project management, communication, and presentation skills.
Mechanical field engineer or technician with project management experience, or specialist from related fields.
Ability to work effectively with customers at all levels, from day‑to‑day users to executives.
Capability to provide technical direction to skilled craft labor, track costs, update schedules, and communicate effectively as a site manager.
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn Baker Hughes applications and project management software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
Field engineering experience.
Proficiency in spoken and written English at a minimum intermediate level.
Knowledge of MKVIe, RX3i, or Woodward control panels.
Knowledge of Nuovo Pignone or Thermodyn CECO.
Knowledge of LM2500 turbines.
