Prosecution of State crimes occurring within the geographical jurisdiction of Charles County, Maryland.
Job Description
ASAs will appear in the Circuit Court for Charles County, Maryland and represent the State in criminal cases. Each attorney is responsible for litigating his/her assigned cases, to include:
- Advising police entities on investigations
- Reviewing and approving search and seizure warrants
- Providing discovery
- Summonsing and interviewing witnesses
- Obtaining physical and digital evidence for use at trial
- Preparing pleadings
- Litigating pre‑trial motions
- Litigating jury/bench trials
- Litigating sentencing hearings
- Litigating post‑conviction and reconsideration of sentence motions




- Other duties as assigned

Compensation and Benefits
Starting Salary: $120,000, dependent upon prior prosecutorial experience. Medical, dental and pension benefits are included.
Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years in prosecutorial work. Must be admitted to the Maryland Bar.
