You have built a large library of winning ads to prove it, and you use AI tools as a core part of how you work, not as an add-on.
You will work directly with paid media strategists to produce creative that is tested in live Meta campaigns.
Your output is measured by hold rate, completion rate, and conversions — not by how polished the edit looks.Key Responsibilities:Edit high-performing video ads for Meta, TikTok, and other performance channels, with Meta as the primary focusBuild hooks that stop the scroll in the first two seconds — this is the single most important edit decision in every videoStructure videos for maximum hold rate: know when to cut, when to hold, and how to re-hook viewers at drop-off points before they leaveApply pattern interrupts strategically throughout the video to maintain attention through the full runtimeExecute caption styling that reinforces retention — placement, timing, font weight, and emphasis are all editorial decisionsManage pacing per platform and per objective — a top-of-funnel awareness video is edited differently than a retargeting ad for cart abandonersWork inside AI-driven workflows to accelerate production without sacrificing quality — you are expected to be faster and better because of the tools you use, not in spite of themBuild multiple creative variations per asset to support structured testing — hook variations, CTA variations, pacing variationsReview ad performance data alongside paid media strategists and use hold rate and drop-off data to inform the next editMaintain an organized library of winning ads, categorized by hook type, format, and performance outcome Must Understand:Hooks: what visually and audibly stops a scroll in the first two seconds, and why some hooks hold and others lose the viewer immediatelyHold rate: how editing decisions affect how long a viewer stays — cuts, pacing, music, caption timing, and delivery all change the curveRetention:
how to structure a video so the viewer is more likely to stay through to the CTA, not just the first five secondsPacing: how to calibrate the speed of an edit to the platform, the audience, and the objective — fast is not always betterCaptions: how caption design and timing affects both accessibility and retention, and why caption styling is an editorial decision, not a formatting taskPattern interrupts: how to use visual and auditory changes to recapture a viewer's attention when drop-off typically occursRe-hooks: how to rebuild curiosity or narrative tension mid-video to bring back viewers who are about to leaveAI tools in the creative workflow: which tools accelerate editing, asset generation, and iteration — and how to build a workflow around them that produces more without producing wors Requirements:Minimum 3 years of video editing experience with a primary focus on paid advertising, not general content creationExtensive Meta ads editing experience — you have edited a significant volume of ads that ran in live campaigns, and you know what Meta-specific performance editing looks likeHeavy AI workflow experience — you use AI tools actively and specifically in your editing process; naming tools and use cases is required in the applicationExpert-level understanding of hooks, hold rate, retention, pacing, captions, pattern interrupts, and re-hooks — these will be tested with a portfolio review before any interviewLarge portfolio of winning ads with performance data required — applications without a portfolio will not be consideredPortfolio must be submitted before the first interview; no exceptionsProficiency in DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or Premiere Pro — at least two of the threeProven experience working with high-growth ecommerce brands in a performance advertising contextRevenue metrics and measurable business outcomes required from the portfolio — show what the ads did, not just what they looked likeStrong communication skills — you are collaborating with strategists and UGC teams, not working in isolationAbility to manage multiple simultaneous edits under tight turnaround without dropping qualityExisting network of creative specialists — editors, motion designers,
