We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Release Engineer – Learning Content & Course Operations to own the end-to-end release lifecycle of training content across multiple learning platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring courses, learning paths, labs, assessments, and related assets are accurately versioned, quality-checked, released, and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
The idóneo candidate combines strong release management discipline with excellent coordination skills and experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), content repositories, and cross-functional teams including curriculum developers, instructional designers, trainers, and platform administrators. Would be able to lead the meetings, and establish the missing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Course Release Management
- Manage the end-to-end release process for instructor-led, virtual, self-paced, and blended learning programs.
- Coordinate release schedules with curriculum development, product, training operations, and delivery teams.
- Ensure all required assets are available and approved prior to release.
- Execute scheduled releases according to release calendars and SLAs.
- Support emergency releases and hotfix deployments when required.
Version Control & Content Governance
- Maintain version control for all learning assets including:
- Course materials
- Student guides
- Instructor guides
- Labs
- Assessments
- Presentations
- Videos
- Knowledge articles
- Track content revisions and maintain comprehensive release documentation.
- Ensure previous versions are archived according to retention policies.
- Manage release notes and document changes between versions.
Quality Assurance
- Perform release readiness validation including:
- File completeness
- Formatting consistency
- Broken link verification
- Lab validation
- Assessment verification
- Metadata validation
- LMS configuration review
- Verify content across multiple delivery platforms before publication.
- Coordinate with QA teams to resolve release blockers.
Learning Platform Administration
- Publish and update courses across LMS and learning platforms.
- Configure course settings, prerequisites, learning paths, certifications, and catalogs.
- Validate learner experience across supported platforms.
- Monitor post-release issues and coordinate fixes.
Release Coordination
- Act as the primary coordinator between:
- Curriculum Development
- Instructional Design
- Product Management
- Training Operations
- Platform Engineering
- QA Teams
- Regional Delivery Teams
- Lead release readiness meetings.
- Maintain release calendars and deployment schedules.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain:
- Release schedules
- Version history
- Change logs
- Release documentation
- Deployment checklists
- Rollback procedures
- Publish release notes for internal stakeholders.
- Track release metrics and operational KPIs.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate release processes.
- Improve release workflows and governance.
- Standardize documentation and version control practices.
- Recommend tooling improvements for release management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Education Technology, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in Release Management, Learning Operations, Content Operations, or LMS Administration.
- Experience managing version-controlled documentation and digital assets.
- Strong understanding of release lifecycle management.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (Docebo, Cornerstone, Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, or similar).
- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise training organizations.
- Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, AICC, and learning content packaging.
- Experience with Git, SharePoint, Confluence, or document management systems.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with AI-enabled content management tools.
- Exposure to Salesforce, Jira, Airtable, or similar operational platforms.
