Client Service Coordinator
This role coordinates the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizes veterinary team productivity, and provides exceptional client service while supporting the team’s goals.
Job Summary
The Client Service Coordinator (“CSC”) drives client and pet flow, maximizes veterinary team productivity, ensures effective communication with associates and clients, and coordinates client and pet care in a friendly, efficient manner, encouraging repeat visits and referrals.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc.
- Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and routing client and pet flow.
- Maximize the number of pets seen through an efficient and productive hospital operation.
- Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service, welcoming clients and pets and educating them about their pet’s health.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, pet health needs, and hospital services.
- Assist incoming clients by completing documentation, entering pet information and history, using proper collars and tags, and ensuring prompt service.
- Assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, invoices, dispensing prescription items, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments.
- Manage finances, maintain accurate balances, and follow proper opening/closing procedures.
- Perform administrative functions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Special Working Conditions – Ability to work at a computer for long periods, confidence around pets, potential overtime (often >40 hours), weekend and evening work, mental processes for reasoning, reading, writing, speaking English, ambulatory skills, lifting up to 50 lbs, good hand‑eye coordination, exposure to pets, anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, medication
- Experience, Education & Training – High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; at least 18 years old for radiography duties; one year of related customer service experience preferred; medical terminology training or veterinary technician/human healthcare background preferred.
Special Working Conditions
- Must work at a computer for long periods.
- Must be confident around pets.
- Work may require more than 40 hours per week, including weekends and evenings.
- Noise level moderate.
- Physical requirements: stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb,
lift up to 50 lbs; good vision and hand‑eye coordination.
- Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, controlled substances.
Pay Range
$15.00 – $18.69 hourly.
