Front End Engineer – Shopify / Liquid

Full-time · Remote – LATAM (Only) ATL Diesel is hiring a Front End Engineer who takes pride in craft, ownership, and building storefront experiences that are fast, clean, and genuinely usable. Work Hours

Monday to Friday, Standard US hours What You'll Be Doing

Own end-to-end front-end delivery of storefront features and page redesigns, from design handoff through implementation, QA, deployment, and maintenance

Build and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid on Shopify Plus

Lead redesigns of key storefront pages and templates, modernizing legacy templates to Online Store 2.0

Translate Figma designs into polished, responsive UI for major redesigns — and independently build and ship smaller features and enhancements without a full design handoff

Work with Shopify metafields / metaobjects, sections, section groups, blocks, and dynamic content

Integrate front-end features with third-party search engines, merchandising, and marketing tools

Collaborate closely with the broader team across engineering, design, and product to plan and ship work

Optimize for Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and cross-browser consistency

Grow with the role as our platform and integrations continue to evolve, taking on new scope over time

Document decisions and implementations at a practical level to support future maintenance What You Need to Succeed

Must-haves

Mid-level to Senior experience as a Front End Developer / Engineer

Strong hands-on experience building custom Shopify themes with Liquid

Strong HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+) — comfortable well beyond jQuery-era patterns

Experience with Shopify theme architecture: Online Store 2.0, JSON templates, sections, section groups, blocks, metafields, settings schema





Comfortable with the Shopify CLI and a Git-based theme development workflow

Responsive / mobile-first development and cross-browser QA

Attention to performance (Core Web Vitals) and accessibility

Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset

Hands-on experience using AI tools as part of your workflow to build, test, and ship features efficiently

Solid English (written and spoken) for clear communication with the team Nice-to-haves

React (strongly preferred)

TypeScript (strongly preferred)

Exposure to Shopify Hydrogen + Oxygen or other headless / Storefront API work

Familiarity with the Shopify GraphQL Storefront / Admin API

Experience integrating third-party search engines (hosted / SaaS search platforms) or Shopify Search & Discovery

Tailwind or a modern CSS methodology

Familiarity with ERP / PIM-driven catalogs or automotive / parts eCommerce What Success Looks Like

Within your first 6 months, you:

Fully understand ATL Diesel's storefront, theme architecture, and design system

Have shipped multiple production-ready page redesigns and features

Have measurably improved storefront performance and UI consistency

Independently own front-end delivery on assigned projects Tech Stack
