Position Summary

The Principal Tech Business Architect proactively and holistically guides enterprise executives through transformation and optimization initiatives. Supports the development of business strategy, outcomes, and capabilities, ensuring technology solutions align with business objectives and support growth. This hybrid role is based in Buenos Aires, requiring 2–3 days per week in the office.

Job Responsibilities

- Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand their goals, strategies, and challenges, uncovering needs that partners and end users cannot articulate.
- Ensure technology strategies and solutions are aligned with business objectives and can support future growth.
- Develop and document technology architecture that supports business processes, including creating models, diagrams, and frameworks.
- Design scalable and adaptable technology solutions that integrate with existing systems and address business needs.
- Act as a liaison between business units and technology teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Adapt quickly to changes in business strategy and help business partners communicate solution value to key stakeholders.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels to gather input, provide updates, and ensure alignment on STS initiatives.
- Participate in the development of STS strategies and roadmaps that align with business goals.
- Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovations that could benefit the organization.
- Provide architectural guidance and oversight for technology projects, ensuring adherence to the defined architecture.
- Create and maintain detailed business architectural documentation, including system diagrams, process flows, and technical specifications.




- Report on the status of architecture initiatives, highlighting progress, risks, and areas needing attention.
- Provide guidance and training to technology teams and stakeholders on architecture-related topics.
- Mentor junior architects and other team members to build architectural expertise within the organization.

Qualifications

- Degree (BS/BA required, MS/MA preferred) in sciences or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and align IT architecture with business strategies and objectives.
- Knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies to design and implement effective solutions.
- Understanding of CRO business processes, industry trends, and organizational dynamics.
- Proficiency in analyzing complex business problems, developing architectural models, and evaluating solutions.
- Strong ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of technical governance frameworks, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Ability to manage and adapt to changes in business requirements or technology.
- Skill in identifying and resolving issues that impact the effectiveness of architecture.
- Capacity to lead architectural initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive adoption of best practices.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, extensive experience, and the ability to influence decision‑making at the highest levels.
