Job Description:

An Employee Tax & Immigration (ET&I;) Advisory Specialist within Global Tax is a key position in our organization. Generally, these Specialists are Subject Matter Experts in several areas including but not limited to: income and social taxes, equity, tax planning, position and policy setting, internal and external audit management, compensation planning, and immigration compliance, for domestic and cross border employee related programs. Ultimately,

an ET&I; Specialist is accountable for the internal provision of Individual Income Tax and Immigration Advisory Services to manage tax and immigration risk and compliance for the Company in the countries of responsibility within the designated Region/ Geographic Unit (GU) or Area.

This role supports one or more Managers for multiple countries within the Americas region. The Specialist will be expected to engage in highly visible issue resolution, complex tax planning and analysis, and sophisticated immigration and tax advisory. It is expected that in addition to their own geographical responsibilities, the Specialist will also contribute to Global Tax initiatives for the broader Americas region and/or Globally. The Specialist will also closely partner with the on-shore and off-shore mobility service delivery teams, as well as Global Mobility (GM) and Employment Law (EL) teams as needed, to provide guidance and direction on the development, controls, and oversight of our mobility compliance programs and related initiatives.

The ET&I; Advisory Specialist will:

Advise Client Engagement teams so they can make well-informed staffing decisions

Determine Tax planning opportunities for complex/executive cross-border assignments

Provide employee tax planning and risk management with the objective of minimizing tax costs for Accenture

Interpret legal and regulatory changes and collaborate across functions as needed to maintain ongoing compliance under new laws, regulations and/or policies

Liaise with Accenture stakeholders/leadership and other internal teams including GM, Delivery Centers, Controllership, Finance, HR, Legal, and the Business

Ensure control points are working effectively for managing risk and compliance with GM and Delivery Center operations teams

Manage relationships with key executives and others outside of the team

Supervise the management of tax and immigration vendor relationships

Provide input on tax and immigration implications for all Mobility related policies

Be responsible for and ensure implementation of any ET&I; policy changes in line with global guidelines in country(ies) of responsibility.


Reports to: ET&I; Advisory GU and Area Lead/s

Supervises: No direct reports

External Relationships: Tax service provider(s), tax authorities, immigration authorities, immigration service provider(s), GU business stakeholders, GM Leads, GM and Delivery Center onshore and offshore teams.


Education: University degree or equivalent higher education qualification in a

related field (e.g. Tax, Law, Finance)

Work Experience: 3+ years with a Big 4 global mobility tax and/or

managing mobility programs in a large multinational corporation. Equivalent level within Big 4 would be Senior Consultant or Assoc. Manager. Experience with immigration advisory in or across the Americas region strongly desired.

Other Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

Individual income tax advisory and international tax technical experience required

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Immigration experience desired

Strong conflict management skills

Strong customer service and advisory skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong organizational abilities

Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi task

Experience of working with a remote, multi-cultural team a plus

Sound working knowledge of common applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
