We are looking for a highly experienced Chief Android Engineer to join our Mobile Team working on a leading global prestige retail platform.The project focuses on the development and support of applications across Desktop, mWeb, iOS, and Android platforms, with over 100 specialists collaborating to enhance this sophisticated portal.The Android stream is dedicated to building and supporting a native Android app recognized as one of the top apps in its category.If you are passionate about mobile innovation, thrive on shaping technical strategy, and are ready to drive transformational impact, apply today and join our team!ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive the long-term technical vision and strategy for a next-generation native Android applicationOwn the end-to-end architecture and implementation of complex features within a large and sophisticated mobile portalEstablish standards and best practices for integrating third-party libraries, services, and components into the Android appSet and enforce engineering excellence around Android Design Patterns, coding conventions, and Google's Design GuidelinesEnsure organization-wide compliance with Google Play Developer Program PoliciesLead initiatives to optimize networking, local data caching, and multitasking performance on Android at scaleChampion and evolve Agile processes across distributed teams composed of local and remote membersProvide strategic technical leadership, mentorship, and career development for the Android team and other engineering leadsAct as a key technical partner to stakeholders and cross-functional leadership across iOS, Mobile Web, and Desktop streamsInfluence product direction, roadmap planning, and engineering culture across the mobile organizationRequirements7+ years of experience in Android development2+ years of proven leadership experience, including managing or mentoring senior engineers and leadsDeep expertise in Java, App Components, and UI frameworks, with a track record of architecting large-scale Android applicationsMastery of Android developer tools and workflowsStrong command of Android Design Patterns, coding conventions, and Google's Design Guidelines, with experience defining them at an organizational levelIn-depth knowledge of Google Play Developer Program PoliciesAdvanced understanding of networking, local data caching, and multitasking on AndroidExtensive background in evaluating, selecting, and integrating third-party libraries and servicesAdvanced proficiency in AI-assisted ("vibe") coding, with demonstrated experience driving AI tooling adoption across teamsStrong command of Agile processes, including scaling Agile practices across multiple teamsProven capability to lead, inspire, and grow dynamic teams composed of local and remote resourcesExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsFluency in English, with a minimum C1 level for effective executive-level communicationNice to haveHands-on development experience with other mobile platformsFamiliarity with SwiftExperience contributing to engineering strategy or technical governance at the program or portfolio levelWe offerInternational projects with top brandsWork with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peersEmployee financial programsPaid time off and sick leaveUpskilling,
