We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support across multiple business areas, ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting the company’s interests in a dynamic Upstream Oil & Gas environment.

Purpose of the Role

Provide legal advice and support to different areas of the company — including Operations, Procurement, Public Affairs, HR, and HES — covering regulatory matters, contract negotiation, litigation management, compliance, and government-related issues.

- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements including confidentiality, transportation, and oil & gas sales contracts.

- Provide legal guidance on regulatory and operational matters related to the Upstream Oil & Gas business.

- Support commercial and operational teams in day-to-day business activities.

- Manage government-related matters and regulatory compliance.

- Coordinate and manage litigation and claims with external counsel.

- Advise on environmental matters, including decommissioning and abandonment activities.





- Provide legal support on labor law and HR matters.

- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, ethics standards, and anti-corruption regulations.

- Support the development and implementation of internal policies and compliance programs.

Law Degree with postgraduate studies.

- 10+ years of legal experience, ideally in top-tier law firms.

- At least 5 years advising Upstream Oil & Gas businesses or in-house in E&P; companies.

- Strong understanding of legal, operational and commercial aspects of the energy industry.

- Fluent English and Spanish (written and spoken).

- Excellent communication, organizational and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to provide business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment.

- Availability to travel to field locations when required.
