promo editing / television editing / broadcast creative editing

Purpose:
The Promo Editor – Tamil Channel will be responsible for editing high-impact promotional content for shows, campaigns, tune-ins, and channel branding, aligned to the creative identity and audience sensibilities of the Tamil market.
The role requires strong storytelling, editing finesse, promo packaging sensibility, and a deep understanding of Tamil entertainment content and viewer preferences.
The adecuado candidate should be able to transform creative concepts into compelling promo edits that drive tune-in, support launches, and strengthen channel branding.
Key Responsibilities
Edit high-quality on-air promos, tune-ins, launch campaigns, show promos, filler content, and channel communication assets for the Tamil channel.
Translate creative briefs into engaging and impactful visual edits that align with the channel's tone, positioning, and target audience.
Create sharp, emotionally compelling, and high-energy edits suited to fiction, non-fiction, movies, and special programming, as applicable.
Ensure all promo edits are creatively strong, brand-aligned, and optimized for viewer engagement.
Contribute to the overall on-air creative language and packaging of the channel.
Edit promotional assets that support:
Show launches
Episodic tune-ins
Stunts and special programming
Seasonal campaigns
Channel image and brand communication
Work closely with Graphics and Promo teams to ensure effective integration of supers, text, motion graphics, and branding elements.




Content Understanding & Regional Relevance
Bring strong understanding of Tamil content, audience preferences, cultural nuances, and entertainment viewing behaviour.
Ensure edits reflect the emotional tonality, pace, and storytelling style relevant to the Tamil-speaking audience.
Maintain sensitivity to language, expressions, and regional flavor while executing promotional content.
Collaboration & Workflow Management
Collaborate closely with Promo Producers, Creative Leads, Graphics, Marketing, Programming, and Scheduling teams to execute campaign requirements.
Incorporate feedback quickly and efficiently while maintaining creative quality.
Manage multiple edits simultaneously within fast-paced turnaround timelines.
Ensure timely delivery of all promo assets as per campaign and on-air deadlines.
Technical & Delivery Compliance
Ensure final edits meet technical standards required for on-air delivery.
Manage timelines, file outputs, versioning, and final export requirements as per broadcast specifications.
Maintain organized project files and support archival / asset management practices where required.
Core Competencies
Strong proficiency in:
Adobe Premiere Pro
Final Cut Pro / Avid

and graphics integration

Prior experience working on
Tamil entertainment / GEC / movie / regional channel content
Strong familiarity with Tamil language content and promo tonality
Exposure to launch campaigns, episodic promos, and channel packaging
