Job Responsibilities
Support the Finance Manager to provide ongoing financial support/partnership to the IT Team, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Partner with accounting, finance and procurement teams on billing initiatives.
Distribute and assist with the interpretation of key financial reports to respective cost center owners.
Build relationships, including influencing and rapport skills.
Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Assist with ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
Prepare monthly intercompany account reconciliations and required journal entries; ensure invoices are sent to intercompany partners.
Perform expense analysis to ensure accurate coding, adequacy of accruals, and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Facilitate positive relationships with General Ledger (GL) team members, including international accounting personnel, and other departments; participate in cross-functional teams as needed.
Work closely with the manager to track budgets and support presentations to Executive Leadership teams.
Assist with loading the annual budget and quarterly forecast into Oracle.
Handle special projects as assigned with an emphasis on attention to detail.
Qualifications
BS/BA degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Progressive accounting experience, preferably within the CRO or pharmaceutical industry.
Experience in a internationally oriented organization and knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; Oracle Financial experience preferred.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach.
Cooperative and collaborative work with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
Diplomatic issue resolution skills.
Strong work ethic, professional attitude, and reliability; strong problem-solving, research, resolution, and data analysis skills.
Ability to act independently with minimal daily direction from the manager to accomplish objectives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and voicemail.
Strong written and spoken English.
Physical Requirements
Position requires: the ability to occasionally move around inside the office to access filing cabinets, office equipment, etc., and to move between office locations; ability to maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods; ability to occasionally manipulate (e.g., lift, carry, move)
office items and packages weighing ***** pounds; constant operation of a computer and other office productivity equipment (e.g., scanner, phone, printer, copier); perception and assessment of written materials for prolonged periods; and frequent communication with colleagues via phone, email, and in-person.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment.
It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
The noise level is low.
The role is largely sedentary.
Summary
Serves as a Sr.
Financial Analyst on the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team, providing centralized and consolidated reporting supporting the IT organization.
This position works closely with senior leadership and reports to the Manager FP&A.;
Responsibilities include producing financial and business analysis, interpreting and investigating data, and ensuring all reporting activities are accurate and prepared within established timelines.
