As an Intermediate Software Developer, you will build the next generation of Risk Management and GIS driven applications to help revolutionize the industry. Working with a talented team, you will contribute to our product development lifecycle to build out new features and continually improve our process. Requirements
- Proven GCP Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of hands‑on experience specifically administrating Google Cloud Platform environments.
- Cloud Governance Expertise: Strong understanding of GCP's resource hierarchy (Organizations, Folders, Projects) and IAM hierarchy.
- Security-First Mindset: Experience in maintaining secure cloud environments through firewalls, private access configurations, and regular security audits.
- Networking Fundamentals: Solid grasp of VPCs, subnets, load balancing, and DNS within a cloud context.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze billing reports and technical logs to provide recommendations for efficiency and security.
- Relevant Certification (Preferred): Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification is a strong asset.
- Communication: Ability to clearly explain cloud resource requirements and security constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
Job responsibilities
- Identity & Access Management (IAM): Provision and manage user accounts, service accounts, and resource permissions using the principle of least privilege.
- Resource Management: Monitor and organize GCP projects, folders, and resources to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business units.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain cloud security best practices (e.g., configuring VPC Service Controls, managing Cloud Armor, and ensuring data encryption) to keep the environment secure.
- Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud spend, manage budgets and alerts, and identify underutilized resources to ensure cost-efficient scaling.
- Governance & Policy: Establish and enforce organizational policies using GCP Organization Policy Service to ensure consistent configurations across all projects.
- Monitoring & Health: Utilize Google Cloud Operations Suite (formerly Stackdriver) to monitor system health, set up uptime checks, and manage logging for audit purposes.
- Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for infrastructure requests, similar to the existing Azure Administrator role, ensuring a unified approach to multi-cloud administration.
