Responsibilities

- Research new approaches to problems and discuss them productively.
- Design, implement, and test customer‑facing and internal web applications, focusing on back‑end but also some front‑end.
- Design new application features and functionality, improving scalability and maintainability.
- Support and provide expertise for a complex hybrid (cloud and on‑premises) infrastructure environment; evaluate and recommend to enable proper operability of applications.
- Meet regularly and interact productively with a diverse team of stakeholders, UI/UX designers, architects, and engineers to elicit, define, analyze, and document requirements and principles for new applications.
- Support less experienced team members in defining technical requirements to facilitate design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Provide coaching to other team members to assist them with technical challenges and assignments.




- Ensure timely escalation of issues that block oneself or the team.
- Help the team support production applications, addressing issues in a timely manner and respecting agreed service level objectives.
- Contribute to defining and implementing best practices, standards, and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies.
- Comply with documented software processes and procedures throughout the software life cycle.
- Solicit and participate in code reviews and unit testing practices.
- Participate in research and proof‑of‑concept initiatives, ensuring value is documented and socialized.
- Assist with the technical screening of new team members joining engineering teams.

Qualifications

- Experience with backend development: REST APIs written using microservices in .NET Core, C#.
- Experience with web front‑end development: Angular OR experience with mobile development: React Native (Expo).
- Experience with data: MySQL, Google Cloud Firestore, MongoDB, Redis Cache.
- Experience with streaming: Google Pub/Sub.
- Experience with infrastructure: Google Kubernetes Engine, and other Google Cloud Platform components.
- Experience with tools: Gitlab, Jira, Confluence, preferably automated CI/CD.
