Commercial Development Representative with English and Portuguese
As a commercial development representative, you will be the first impression of S&P; Global Energy. You will engage current and potential clients, develop outreach strategy, diagnose client needs, introduce them to S&P; Global Energy solutions, and assess fit for our products.
The Team:
The Commercial Development team is a integral, client‑first, flexible, and results‑oriented team that generates qualified leads and supports revenue growth.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Work through assigned S&P; Global Energy accounts by segment to qualify potential prospects.
- Identify the right group/users within an organization and engage them in a conversation about our different products.
- Develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, prospect lists, discovery and individual research.
- Develop an outreach strategy to drive appointments with Sales Representatives.
- Follow up on leads and conduct research to identify potential prospects.
- Prepare and analyze sales pipeline reports and dashboards.
- Work on new logo accounts to engage prospects in the buying process.
- Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow‑up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
- Grow product and sales knowledge by attending demos and soliciting feedback from team members.
- Continuous learning to stay on top of tools, techniques, trends, and understanding of the market, customers, and competition.
- Manage data for new and prospective clients within CRM,
recording all communications accurately and attaching documents.
- Monitor and manage day‑to‑day time and priorities to deliver results.
- Collaborate with peers, especially around best practices, competitive intelligence and sales strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred).
- Portuguese and English languages advanced/bilingual speaker.
- 1–3 years of telemarketing and/or inside sales experience.
- Work well under pressure.
- Out‑of‑the‑box thinker.
- Highly self‑motivated.
- Excellent client service skills.
- Solid organization, multi‑tasking and prioritization skills.
- Goal and action oriented.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written with the ability to engage a senior level audience).
- Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.
- Knowledge of CRM databases (such as Salesforce.com) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the financial industry and/or its divisions/departments is a plus.
Additional Skills:
- German and/or French language proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to assess a company’s needs and tailor outreach to each prospect specifically.
- Proven track record of achieving quota, daily/weekly/monthly activity goals,
research, and pipeline development goals.
- Proven track record of strong client relationships and achieving revenue targets within a business‑development environment.
- Experience in dealing with challenging situations such as objection handling, overcoming gatekeepers, and overcoming rejection with courage.
- Collaborative and supportive; loves working with, listening to, and understanding others.
