**South America Copper**

The **Environmental Chief** will lead environmental management for two of Glencore’s key mining projects in Argentina — **El Pachón (San Juan)** and **MARA (Catamarca)** — with a primary focus on **water resources**.
- The role ensures compliance with Argentine regulations and corporate standards, drives sustainable practices, and builds strong relationships with authorities, communities, and stakeholders to safeguard the company’s license to operate.
**Responsibilities**

**Environmental Strategy and Water Management Planning**: Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of environmental strategies focused on water resources (usage, recycling, treatment). Deliver comprehensive plans that ensure compliance, optimize resource use, and support sustainability.

**Regulatory Compliance and Auditing**: Ensure compliance with Argentine regulations, permits, corporate policies, and international standards. Lead audits and corrective actions to achieve zero breaches and continuous improvement.

**Environmental Risk Assessment and Mitigation**: Conduct impact and risk assessments, mainly on water aspects, and develop mitigation and contingency plans. Reduce risks and strengthen operational resilience.

**Monitoring,



Reporting, and Data Management**: Oversee systems for water monitoring and reporting to management, stakeholders, and authorities. Deliver accurate data to improve decision-making and transparency.

**Stakeholder Engagement and Community Relations**: Build strong relationships with agencies, communities, and stakeholders. Foster trust, ensure alignment with commitments, and maintain the company’s social license to operate.

**Experience and Requirements**

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in environmental management within the mining sector, with proven leadership in water management projects.
- Strong knowledge of Argentine environmental and water regulations, as well as international standards.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage audits, and engage with regulatory entities and local communities.
- Proficiency in environmental monitoring tools and data management platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent the company before internal and external stakeholders.
