- Alcala Consulting is a fast-growing IT support, cybersecurity, compliance, and AI automation company based in Pasadena, California.
- We help businesses eliminate inefficiency through automation, cybersecurity, AI systems, and operational optimization.
- We are looking for a highly capable Python Automation Developer who can think beyond code and help architect real-world automation systems that save businesses time, money, and labor.
- This is NOT a “junior coder” position.
- We want a systems thinker who understands automation, workflows, APIs, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Workflow Automation Development

- Design and build automation systems using Python.
- Automate repetitive business processes and operational workflows.
- Develop scripts, services, and tools that reduce manual labor.
- Build scheduled jobs, automation pipelines, and event-driven systems.
- Create internal tools for operational efficiency.

API & System Integrations:
- Integrate platforms using REST APIs and webhooks.
- Connect CRMs, ticketing systems, accounting software, Microsoft 365, AI systems, and cloud services.
- Build secure authentication workflows.




- Troubleshoot API communication and data synchronization issues.

AI & Automation Projects:
- Integrate AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or local AI models into workflows.
- Build AI-assisted business automation systems.
- Develop intelligent document processing and reporting workflows.
- Create automation pipelines for data extraction, analysis, and notifications.

Data Processing & Automation:
- Parse and process CSV, Excel, JSON, XML, and PDF files.
- Clean, normalize, and transform business data.
- Build automated reporting systems and dashboards.
- Develop web scraping and data collection systems when APIs are unavailable.

Infrastructure & Deployment:
- Deploy and maintain automation scripts on Windows and Linux environments.
- Work with Docker, cloud platforms, and scheduled task systems.
- Monitor automation reliability and troubleshoot failures.
- Implement logging, alerting, and error-handling mechanisms.

Security & Reliability:
- Handle credentials and sensitive information securely.
- Follow cybersecurity best practices.
- Prevent duplicate processing, workflow failures, and automation abuse.
- Ensure automations are stable, scalable, and maintainable.

Documentation & Collaboration:
- Create clear technical documentation and SOPs.
- Document workflows, integrations, and automation logic.
- Work closely with operations, sales, and technical teams to improve business processes.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.

Requirements

Technical Requirements

- Strong Python development experience.
- Experience building automation workflows and backend systems.




- Strong understanding of REST APIs and webhooks.
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience processing structured and unstructured data.
- Familiarity with GitHub and version control workflows.
- Experience with Docker or containerized environments.
- Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.

Preferred Experience
- MSP or IT services industry experience.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 integrations.
- Experience with AI APIs and AI workflow automation.
- Experience with RPA platforms or workflow automation tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or browser automation tools.
