We're looking for a highly skilled SQL Server DBA to take ownership of critical database environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity across production systems.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in complex environments and takes a proactive approach to database management.

Key Responsibilities
Design and manage backup strategies (full, differential, transaction logs)
Perform test restores and maintain recovery runbooks
Monitor backup jobs and ensure RPO compliance
Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Agent jobs
Maintain index optimization, statistics updates, and DBCC CHECKDB routines
Manage job scheduling, dependencies, and alerts
Monitor query performance and resolve bottlenecks
Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, and wait stats
Optimize indexes and manage database growth
Configure memory, tempdb, and maintain performance baselines
Monitor and troubleshoot replication agents and latency
Manage publications/subscriptions and schema changes
Maintain replication health and documentation
Security & Access Control
Manage permissions, roles, and authentication (AD preferred)
Enforce least privilege and conduct access reviews
Audit and secure sensitive data environments
Development & Release Support
Review schema changes and advise on indexing strategies
Support query tuning and deployment processes
Collaborate on release planning and rollback strategies
Patching & Upgrades




Apply SQL Server updates and coordinate maintenance windows
Plan version upgrades and test in lower environments
Handle database failures, corruption, and recovery scenarios
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive actions
Support on-call and production incident resolution
What we're looking for
Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA (production environments)
Deep knowledge of backup/recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with replication, security, and SQL Agent jobs
Strong understanding of database architecture and system performance
Experience working in high-availability or critical environments (even without HA)
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have (Snowflake)
Experience with Snowflake performance & cost optimization
Warehouse sizing, query tuning, and cost monitoring
Knowledge of dbt, data pipelines, and cloud data platforms
